The Tennessee Language Center, an agency of the University of Tennessee’s Institute for Public Service, is a leader in providing the best training programs and professional development courses for language interpreters and translators.

We are currently offering a Medical Interpreter Training Course (MITC) and a Court Interpreter Workshop. We also periodically offer webinars for current interpreters that want to improve their knowledge and skills and earn continuing education units.

Online Medical Interpreter Training Course (MITC)

(For aspiring or current interpreters anywhere in the US)

A fully online, 70-hour training program for people that want to become certified as medical interpreters. This program is offered by live instructors via Zoom.

(Valid for both national certifying bodies for medical/healthcare interpreters: NBCMI and CCHI)

Online Court Interpreter Workshop

(For aspiring or current legal interpreters in the State of Tennessee)

A fully online, 14-hour Court Interpreter Ethics and Skill-building Workshop for those who want to become registered and certified court interpreters in the State of Tennessee. This program is offered by a live instructor via Zoom.

(Approved by the TN Administrative Office of the Courts)
