Medical Interpreter Training Program

The Tennessee Language Center offers a comprehensive 70-hour online Medical Interpreter Training Program designed for individuals seeking national certification as medical interpreters. This program is delivered live via Zoom, making it accessible to participants across the United States.

Program Highlights:

  • Duration: 70 hours of instruction, including 52 hours of theoretical training and 18 hours of practical simulations.
  • Delivery Mode: Live online sessions via Zoom.
  • Eligibility: Fluency in English and at least one other language; minimum age of 18; high school diploma or GED; successful completion of language proficiency assessments in both English and the target language.
  • Certification Preparation: Meets the training requirements for national certification through the National Board of Certification for Medical Interpreters (NBCMI) and the Certification Commission for Healthcare Interpreters (CCHI).

How much does it cost?

The cost of tuition plus materials is $975.00, which can be paid in three (3) installments of $325.

The language assessments you need to pass to be able to enroll cost $69.30 each, for a total of $138.60.

Students who withdraw before the first day of class or within the first 12 class hours: Full refund
Students who withdraw after the first 12 class hours: No refund
