Telephonic, or over-the-phone interpreting (OPI), allows callers to quickly connect to a qualified professional interpreter within 30 seconds at a fraction of the cost of traditional onsite interpreting.

We offer on-demand and scheduled telephonic interpretation services in more than 350 languages. Our expert interpreters are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

How it Works

  1. Call (800) 444-6627.
  2. Enter your PIN. See instructions for getting a PIN if needed.
  3. Say your organization name.
  4. Select a language from the menu, or press 0 for all other languages.
  5. Connect with an interpreter.

Rates

  • Calls are $0.99 per minute, with a 20-minute monthly minimum when the service is used during the month.
  • There is no charge if the service is not accessed during the month.
  • Invoices are sent monthly.

Get a PIN

To request an interpreter, you must have a PIN (personal identification number). This PIN can be assigned to an individual or be used for an entire organization or a specific location. You may request as many PINs as needed.

If you do not have a pin, the Tennessee Language Center can set up your account very quickly. Contact us by email or phone to get a PIN.
