Simultaneous Interpreting Boot Camp
Take Your Interpretation Skills to the Next Level
Professional interpreters across the country are expected to possess simultaneous interpretation skills and be able to flawlessly jump into this mode whenever and wherever necessary, whether it be at a clinic, in a school meeting, or during a court hearing. Additionally, there is a high demand across the country for interpreters who can perform in this mode for conferences and events. Despite this critically needed skill, most interpreter training courses spend little time exploring this mode and offer little by way of theory and practice to support interpreters in developing the skills needed for professional simultaneous interpretation. The Tennessee Language Center’s one-of-a-kind, 4-week course was developed to fill a gap left by other training programs by focusing exclusively on the skills needed to effectively interpret in the simultaneous mode.
Instructor Johana Marcela Pinilla is a certified English/Spanish Medical Interpreter and a certified conference interpreter for English to Spanish and Spanish to English.
